Actually, it's a quick 10-minute chocolate cup preparation using the microwave which Can be served as a perfect boutique-style eggless dessert.
Overview
Preparation time: 10 minutes (if shrikhand is ready)
Cooking time: 2 minutes
Course: Dessert
Yield: 10 cups
Ingredient and others
For chocolate cups
- Silicone Moulds-8
- Semi sweetened/dark chocolate- 200 gm ( Chocolate to be used should be at Room temperature )
For Filling
- Shrikhand- 2 cups
- Diced Mango- 1 cup
- Pomegranate- 1 cup
Preparation Process
Step-1
Cut the chocolate bar into small pieces, if you're using chocolate chips then skip this step.
Note: If you'll heat and melt the full chocolate bar, then the chocolate melts unevenly. It may possible that the center part won't melt and will become lumpy.
Step-2
Place the trimmed chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Glass and ceramic bowls should be preferred for this purpose. Melt the chocolate in a microwave for 30 seconds. Take it out scrap and stir once then again microwave it for 30 seconds.
Stir the softened chocolate with a spoon or rubber spatula holding in your hand until the remaining solid pieces finish melting with the heat of melted chocolate. If the chocolate isn't smooth enough then microwave it again for 20 seconds. Scrap the sides of the bowl every time you heat.
Step-3
Take a silicone cupcake mold. Pour melted chocolate into it.
Note: Paper cups can also be used. To do so, first, slit it a little on the top edge with a scissor. When the chocolate freezes, that slit can be used as an opening to tear the cup.
Step-4
Hold the cup from outside and empty the excess chocolate carefully into another cup. Repeat the process for the rest of the cups.
Note: It's advisable to melt the chocolate in batches because reheating or overcooked chocolate will be difficult to spread and it won't give you a smooth cup.
Step-5
Revolve the chocolate around the cups and ensure it covers the entire area properly. This way you'll get a solid thick cup without other coatings.
Step-6
Refrigerate the cups for 5-10 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
Step-7
Demould the cups generously by scraping edge to edge.
Note: while demolding hold the cup gently and scrap from the side corners first. It's advisable to use a Soft Silicone mold for making Chocolate cups as harder ones can be hard to remove and results in break cups. Here I'm using reusable Food grade silicone molds that I bought online.
- These silicone molds provide effortless food release without any greasing and food spray.
- They are Microwave, Freezer, Oven, and dishwasher safe so can be used and washed easily.
